The story of Priorat is absolutely fascinating. Nowadays considered to produce the best and the most expensive strong bodied, mineral wines in the world, 30 years ago no one would have given a penny for this backwards, arid, and difficult land. But five young “hippies” came here in the late 80’s with the dream of producing the best wine in Spain and, literally from scratch, with nothing in their pocket, except great determination, they started to plant their vines and eventually produced those top bottles you can now find in the posh wine shops of Camden, or in those three Michelin stars restaurants in Shanghai.
