Die Geschichte des Priorat ist absolut faszinierend. Heute ist es bekannt dafür, die besten und teuersten kräftigen mineralischen Weine der Welt zu produzieren. Noch vor 30 Jahren hätte niemand auch nur einen Pfenning dafür gegeben, dieses abgeschiedene, trockene und schwierige Land zu kultivieren. In den späten 80ern kamen jedoch fünf junge „Hippies“ hierher, ihrem Traum folgend, den besten Wein Spaniens zu produzieren. Sie begannen buchstäblich von Grund auf, mit nichts in der Tasche außer ihrer Entschlossenheit. So fingen sie also an Wein anzubauen und produzieren heute diejenigen Topweine, die man in den noblen Weinläden von Camden, oder in Drei-Sterne-Restaurants in Shanghai findet.
